Ceylon Kingsmen Garden has developed a fertile plot of land to attract the maximum species of butterflies. According to our records, we have found within this garden more than thirty species belonging to five families. Actually, our garden has been landscaped as a botanical biome with a view to displaying a wide range of endemic and imported plants. The specialty of our garden is, the butterflies fluttering about freely. Visitors can enjoy observing their behavior in their natural habitat.
Our mission reached success after only two years of planting the host plants and Nectarines. We could proudly say our flowering beds added and enriched with nectarine blossoms attract beautiful butterflies. Up to now, the family types of butterflies we have recorded are Papilionidae, Pieridae, Nymphalidae, Lycaenidae and Hesperiidae. According to expert research done, six families of butterflies have been identified in our entire Island. Of these, Kingsmen Garden is fortunate in being naturally gifted with five families in the open-air environment prevailing.
