The tamarind, a slow-growing, long-lived, massive tree reaches, under favorable conditions. It is highly wind-resistant.Tamarind has many uses including cooking, health, and household purposes. The sticky pulp of the brown pods has a sweet and sour flavor. Tamarind is high in many nutrients. In beverage form, it was commonly used to treat diarrhea, constipation, fever, and malaria. The bark and leaves were also used to promote wound healing.The polyphenols in tamarind have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. These can protect against diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
Elaeocarpus ganitrus is a large evergreen tree, often with buttress roots and has leaves with wavy serrations, creamy white flowers and more or less spherical bright blue drupe fruit. It is a rare variety and can be found in Sri lanka.It is used in folk medicine in treatment of stress, depression, palpitation, nerve pain, epilepsy, migraine, asthma, hypertension, arthritis and liver diseases. It can be used as a cure for skin diseases, pimples,ringworm and possess anti ageing property. Inner part or bead lying in the seed is called Rudraksha.It has an important position in Hindu religion.

Arjuna is a large deciduous tree with spreading crown and drooping branches. It has very strong and long roots. This tree reaches height up to 40-50 feet or more. It is often found along the water courses. Roots have the ability to purify water. Terminalia arjuna is one of the most accepted and beneficial medicinal plants in indigenous system of medicine for the treatment of various critical diseases. Arjuna bark has been used in the traditonal Ayurvedic medical system for at least 3,000 years as a remedy for heart ailments. Ceylon ebony is classified as 'Data Deficient' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. The edible fruits have medicinal properties as attenuant and lithontripic. The pounded bark and leaves are employed as a blistering plaster.
